Laghetto Cà Brusà is located in Camisano Vicentino, a little town between Padua and Vicenza, in an enviable position in the midle of the green countryside.
I am Irene and I am the owner of the farm, founded in 2020, following a total change in my life and the one of my husband Nicola. You know when you read about those people who gave up everything and went to live in the countryside? That’s us 🙂
I, with a degree in Management Engineering and one in Statistical Sciences in my pocket and after having worked for many years in the purchasing office of a typical Venetian factory, was forced to resign when my daughter Gioia was born in 2018. The reason? Again, due to the usual failure to grant part-time or flexible hours…..covid didn’t exist yet and smart working wasn’t yet clear. In short, looking for a new job, impossible to find for a woman over 30 with children, I decide to open a farm… and where? In the lands of Camisano and Scarperia, owned by my father Antonio and my uncle Don Gianni, to whom I will always be grateful for the opportunity.
In Camisano in particular way, the company’s main headquarters, in addition to the land there are also 3 hectares of lakes, on which the fish farming of another uncle, Paolo, was based, but I will talk to you about him at another time (and I assure you that there’s a lot to talk about!!!)
Coming back to us, we begin to reorganize the company, in particular the lake, and we realize that there is a lot of work and certainly not for a single woman. So, a bit madly I admit, we decide that Nicola must also work full time in the countryside and so he quits in 2021. In the meantime we also move to live closer to the company, we leave Curtarolo after 10 years and move to Poiana di Granfion, a tiny hamlet of Grisignano di Zocco. And here too there is land to work, which we decide to dedicate to vegetables. So you will say, what exactly do you do?? I will reply immediately listing our services 🙂
Laghetto Ca’ Brusà is an agricultural company with carp and trout breeding and production of fresh and dried organic vegetables, but it is also a sport fishing lake dedicated to carp fishing and spinning… Not only that, in 2022 we opened our camping site for campers, caravans, tents and apartment accommodation, as well as having started the fantastic adventure of beekeeping. It doesn’t end here: we are implementing the production of saffron and other aromatic herbs, as well as educational farm activities, already certified by the Region! As you may have understood, we like to experiment and even more we like to let you enter our world!
ABOUT CARPFISHING
Here we are talking a little about the main activity of our lake, Carpfishing, the old fashioned way carp fishing. This is the world of Nicola, who grew up fishing for carp in Nuovissimo canal in Piove di Sacco. Yes, because Nicola was born and raised in Rosara, a small hamlet of Codevigo, far from my Camisano, where I was born… how did we meet? Well that’s another story and I’ll tell you about it soon in one of the blog articles…
However, we were saying that Nicola has been fishing since he was a child, then work and commitments took him a little away from carp fishing (don’t tell me you don’t reflect yourselves!). Until, one day in 2020, this opportunity arose to open the lake and dedicate it to carp. My uncle has always had carp farming, but he had never equipped the lake for sport fishing, especially carp fishing. So it can be said that the lake was virgin from this point of view, and even today it is not difficult to encounter carp with no signs of hooks. For this reason, we cannot say that Ca’ Brusà is an easy lake, many carp are as wary as in free water. It is not a lake for everyone, it is a challenge that must be taken up and faced with cold rationality. A sentence that we should engrave on the gate is: WE ARE NOT A CARPO TRACK. You don’t catch a carp every two minutes and the coat, especially during the day, has to be taken into account. If you are not willing to accept it and really challenge yourself, then it is not a lake for you.
With us you can fish during the day, but also do continuous days with nights. You can also book the lake for exclusive use. Fishing is strictly catch and release, which is the why various precautions are necessary which you will find in the regulation, such as barbless hooks. The welfare of the fish always comes first.
For accommodation, you can read the details in the agricamping section, however I tell you that you can sleep in a tent, camper, caravan, wooden house or in our lakefront apartment. All activities are carried out by reservation, the reference number is my 3801214422. In the lake you can find carp (up to 25 kg), amur and sturgeon (up to 30 kg). There are also several koi carp and colorful crucians. Having been fishing for only 3 years, we expect to catch fish we have never seen before, even large ones.

There are 10 double stations (link for map) almost all reachable by car. The bottom around the lake is made up of grass and gravel and was entirely redone in 2021, so you will not find mud.
At the disposal of fishermen, there are bathrooms with shower, disabled bathroom, sink for washing dishes, external shower. Sunbeds are available for sunbathing and a large roof with tables for eating, perhaps meat cooked in our large fireplace. It is possible to order takeaway with delivery directly to the lake. ABOUT AGRICAMPING

In addition to the sport fishing, you can go on bike and walking excursions in the surrounding area. The Treviso-Ostiglia cycle path passes right by the property. It was created by paving the tracks of an old railway line, so the route is quite flat and easy to follow, as well as suitable for families and less experienced cyclists.
At the lake there you can find a play area, a shared barbecue, a covered outdoor dining area, an area for washing dishes and an area for walking dogs and letting them run freely. The modern and well-maintained toilet block has bathrooms and showers with hot water.
If you feel like eating out, there are several restaurants a short drive from the agricamping. Furthermore, in the nearby town of Camisano Vicentino (five minutes by car) you will find shops, supermarkets and places to eat, as well as a large Sunday market.
We are close to the Grisignano di Zocco train station, 20 minutes by car from Vicenza and Padua, 40 minutes from Venice, Treviso, Verona. That is, on the ideal crossroads to act as a base camp for many visits to our splendid cities.
There is the possibility of staying in caravans or campers, for which we have reserved the possibility of having 3A electricity connections, loading drinking water and discharging waste water. Here you will not find the classic delimited pitch, we have preferred to give you the possibility to choose where and how to settle, even with a lake view.
You can also book a simple tent pitch, given that we are equipped with bathrooms and everything you need even for eating, or our 3×2 m wooden house with 2 beds and electricity.
In our agricamping, we also have the availability of a mini apartment with 4 beds which can be increased to 5, equipped with a sitting room, private bathroom with shower and kitchenette with fridge.

From us it is possible to purchase seasonal products of our production, such as vegetables, fruit, honey, vegetables and other dried aromatic herbs, cultivated mushrooms. So you could bring home some of the flavors of our countryside!
We have also added a large children’s playground, also ideal as a location for birthday parties!
ABOUT SPINNING
We now come to another of Nicola’s great passions: the spinning activity that can be done with us, also by reservation.
Spinning is a very different type of fishing from carpfishing, which does not mean it can be considered easier. It is less demanding in terms of positioning the equipment and therefore it can be done successfully even if you have a few hours available. The fish currently present in our lake are black bass and stripped bass. Royal perchs have also recently been added, a very interesting fish.
Fishing must be done with a barbless or flattened barb hook, without treble hooks and only with artificial bait. This is because even for spinning the activity is release only, or catch and release as you prefer to say it, exactly like carp fishing.
Our bass are, like carp, very wary and we need to study them thoroughly to evaluate in which spots it is best to attack them. The stripped ones were introduced last year and have adapted perfectly to the lake environment. Our choice was not to include fish that were unable to live in symbiosis with the environment, or in any case fish destined to die with changes in atmospheric conditions.
For spinning, it is possible to fish from land or in a belly boat. You can do either a half day or a full day. It is always possible to stop and eat some snacks with us, or have a barbecue with the fireplace available. Of course it is also possible for those who remain in carp fishing to have a spinning rod with a supplement.
It is an activity that, with the right care, can also entertain children.
In fact, we have many small bass that are very reactive!
